Whereas all previous digital pianos used recording (many) samples of real pianos to reproduce the sound, the V-Piano uses sound modelling to create its sound — i.e. mathematical representations of how the material (hammers, soundboard, wires, etc.) interacts to generate the sound.

That way you can not only reproduce traditional pianos, but also pianos that — due to material constraints — could not be build in real life.

In short: It’s amazing and I want one!
