		<description>Get the cheapest UPS you can that 1) will handle the load for at least 5 minutes and 2) has line-balancing - my old apt was as far away from the power substation as it was possible to be, so I had brownouts 2-3 times/week. Powerstrips didn't help, but the line-balancing stuff in the UPS did.</description>

		<description>I agree. Can anyone recommend a surge protector that actually works? There's so many cheap ads for these things everywhere that I don't trust anything -- and since you can't really test it, I have to rely on the vendor... :)</description>
